Secondary Disinfection Systems provides equipment for both hypochlorite and mixed oxidant generation. Hypochlorite can be produced on-site using the same fundamental process used for mixed oxidants, by electrolyzing salt and water. In fact, the equipment for generating hypochlorite closely resembles that used for mixed oxidant systems. They often share the same enclosures, mounting configurations, and several key components. The primary distinctions between the two systems lie in the design of the electrolytic cells and their specific operating settings.

The Vault™

FAC Output: 25–100 lbs/day (11.3–45.4 kg/day)
The innovative VAULT™ on-site generator introduces a groundbreaking self-cleaning design, pioneering in its class. Engineered for maximum efficiency, long-term cost savings, and robust performance, the VAULT requires minimal maintenance. It features advanced flow control, an air-cooled power unit, a corrosion-resistant housing, and a modern touchscreen interface for seamless operation. The system includes an easily upgradeable cell, allowing for conversion between sodium hypochlorite and advanced mixed oxidants, along with scalable output for enhanced adaptability. Available in both wall-mounted and skid-mounted configurations. For higher demand, multiple VAULT units can be installed in parallel to achieve virtually unlimited capacity. A standard (non-self-cleaning) version is also available.

RIO™ H Series

FAC Output: 100 to 500 lbs/day (45 to 227 kg/day)
Systems available with capacities up to 600 lbs/day
These medium-capacity hypochlorite generators are housed in durable, corrosion-resistant HDPE enclosures, offering protection for both personnel and internal components. Thanks to a modular design, system capacity can be increased without expanding the footprint by simply adding up to five cells within a single cabinet. The system is controlled by Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1200 automation and features variable-speed brine pumps that eliminate the need for manual calibration. Additionally, the compact cell design minimizes acid usage for cleaning calcium carbonate deposits.

RIO Grande™

FAC Output: >1,550 lbs/day (>700 kg/day)
The RIO Grande on-site generator is designed for high-volume applications, providing large-scale treatment capabilities for water, wastewater, and industrial systems with flow rates exceeding 50 million gallons per day (200,000 m³/day). Its advanced cell design enhances salt and energy efficiency while minimizing maintenance and offering exceptional operational flexibility. The electrolytic cell, power components, and control systems are securely housed within a rugged metal frame, and the unit is managed via Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1200 automation. Transitioning from hypochlorite to mixed oxidant production is straightforward; simply swap out the cells, allowing for seamless water chemistry optimization with minimal expense.
