The REGAL Ammoniator delivers the same trusted performance and features found in the well-known REGAL Gas Chlorinator, with added construction specifically engineered to withstand the corrosive nature of ammonia. Built with durable, high-quality materials, it ensures long-lasting, reliable service in demanding environments, making it ideal for various uses, including secondary disinfection.
Safety First
The REGAL Direct-Mount, Vacuum-Operated Gas Ammoniator is one of the most dependable and secure systems available for maintaining bacteria-free water in primary and secondary disinfection applications.
Mounting the ammoniator directly to the gas cylinder enhances safety by eliminating additional connections. Its heavy-duty yoke, featuring the strongest slide bars and tightening bolt available, adds another level of protection. A built-in handle helps simplify the mounting process and reduces the risk of misalignment between the inlet adaptor and cylinder valve. The yoke is coated with an advanced fluoropolymer, providing excellent resistance to corrosive gases like ammonia, chlorine, and sulfur dioxide.
This all-vacuum system ensures ammonia is never under pressure, effectively avoiding the risks associated with pressurized manifold systems. Every surface that comes into contact with the gas, from the cylinder to the injection point, is constructed with state-of-the-art, corrosion-resistant materials. Without any pressurized lines, valves, or fittings, potential breakage or leaks are minimized. If a break does occur, the vacuum system immediately fails safe: air enters, the vacuum collapses, and the spring-loaded inlet valve snaps shut, instantly stopping the gas flow.
Unmatched Reliability
A key strength of the REGAL Ammoniator is its streamlined, minimalist design. Containing only 68 parts, up to 60% fewer than other brands, it’s designed for intuitive operation, faster training, and easier maintenance.
Each of these components is selected for its compatibility with gaseous forms of chlorine (Cl₂), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), and ammonia (NH₃). These devices are intended exclusively for gas-phase operation. Exposure to liquid forms of these chemicals may damage internal parts, and the manufacturer should be contacted immediately if that occurs.
All units are meticulously assembled by skilled technicians, who inspect and bench-test each unit thoroughly before it leaves the production line, ensuring top-level performance and reliability.
Highly Efficient Ejector System
Another hallmark of the REGAL system is its precision-engineered ejector, which performs three essential functions:
- It generates the vacuum that draws ammonia from the cylinder.
- It blends the gas with water for accurate dosing.
- It prevents backflow of water into the gas system.
Composed of four rugged, high-grade plastic parts, the ejector can withstand up to 200 psig of back pressure. It’s specially designed nozzle produces optimal vacuum strength with minimal water flow and pressure. The single-piece nozzle maintains permanent alignment and consistent performance, allowing each to be pre-tested for efficiency. A built-in check valve prevents water intrusion into the vacuum line during system shutdown.
Cost-Effective Operation
The REGAL Gas Ammoniator is highly economical thanks to its durability, ease of maintenance, and minimal servicing needs. Several key components contribute to its long service life and affordability:
- High and Low Pressure Check Valves crafted from materials that resist chemical degradation by both dry and wet ammonia.
- Optional Dual Check Valve Ejector (up to 500 PPD) with a dual-ball primary valve and a spring-loaded O-ring/poppet secondary check valve.
- Reusable REGAL Filter, designed to trap fine particulate matter in ammonia gas, reducing replacement costs.
- Tapered Opening Rate Valve, which eliminates traditional valve seats that wear out over time, ensuring more precise flow settings and extended service life.
- Corrosion-Resistant Metal Inlet Adapter, made from a specialty alloy that withstands attack from all forms of ammonia under standard operating conditions.
- Reinforced Diaphragm, built from extra-thick, high-tech material for consistent gas flow during operation.
- Encapsulated Heavy-Duty Inlet Safety Valve Spring, which can be easily removed for cleaning and reassembly; this critical component comes with a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY.
Ammoniator Applications and Capacities
Available in capacities from 4 to 100 PPD, REGAL Ammoniators are ideal for use in:
- Drinking water and wastewater treatment
- Petroleum and paper processing
- Wool production
- Acid neutralization across various industries
They offer a powerful, efficient, and low-maintenance solution for ammonia gas feeding applications in a wide range of sectors.
