The vacuum-operated gas chlorinator is one of the most secure and reliable methods for ensuring water is free from harmful bacteria, making it an excellent solution for secondary disinfection and a variety of other applications.

Designed to mount directly onto the chlorine cylinder, the REGAL system enhances safety by eliminating many of the risks associated with remote mounting. It features the industry’s most robust slide bars and tightening bolt within the mounting yoke for extra protection. A built-in handle simplifies installation and minimizes the risk of misaligning the inlet adapter with the cylinder valve. The yoke is coated with a high-strength fluoropolymer for superior resistance to corrosion caused by chlorine, sulfur dioxide, or ammonia.

Because it operates entirely under vacuum, chlorine gas is never under pressure, significantly reducing hazards often seen in pressure-based systems. All internal surfaces exposed to gas are constructed from chemically resistant, advanced materials. There are no high-pressure valves or fittings to corrode or fail. In the event of a break or leak, air is drawn in and vacuum pressure is lost, triggering the spring-loaded safety valve to immediately shut off gas flow automatically and safely.

Engineered for Reliability

Simplicity underpins the REGAL system’s reliability. With just 68 components—up to 60% fewer than competing systems—the REGAL is easier to understand, operate, and maintain.

Every part is specifically engineered for resistance to chlorine (Cl₂), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), or ammonia (NH₃) in gas form. It’s critical to note that the system is only intended for use with gas; exposure to liquid forms of these chemicals may damage components. If liquid does enter the unit, contact the manufacturer immediately.

Each REGAL unit is hand-assembled by experienced technicians who perform detailed inspections throughout assembly and complete bench testing before shipping.

A key element of REGAL’s reliability is the ejector, which performs three vital tasks:

  • It generates the vacuum needed to draw gas from the cylinder.
  • It ensures complete mixing of the gas with water.
  • It prevents backflow of water into the system.

Constructed from a durable, chemical-resistant plastic, the four-part ejector withstands back pressure up to 200 psig. The one-piece nozzle is precision-designed to create maximum vacuum at low pressure and flow, and its fixed alignment ensures consistent performance. Every nozzle is pre-tested to match a defined performance curve. An integrated check valve keeps water from backing into the vacuum line when the unit shuts off.

Cost-Effective Operation

The REGAL Gas Chlorinator delivers long-term savings through durability, low maintenance requirements, and ease of service. Features that contribute to its economical operation include:

  • High and Low Pressure Check Valves are made from highly chemical-resistant materials to endure both dry and wet chlorine exposure.
  • Optional Dual Check Valve Ejector (up to 500 PPD) featuring a dual-layer safety mechanism: a ball check valve supported by a spring-loaded O-ring/poppet check valve.
  • Reusable, Corrosion-Resistant Filter that captures fine particles in chlorine gas, reducing waste and replacement costs.
  • Tapered Opening Rate Valve is designed without traditional valve seats, minimizing wear and enhancing accuracy and lifespan.
  • Metallic Inlet Adapter is constructed from a special corrosion-resistant alloy, nearly impervious to chlorine in all forms under standard conditions.
  • Reinforced Diaphragm crafted from high-performance material, significantly thicker and stronger than competitors, for consistent gas flow during operation.
  • Heavy-Duty Inlet Safety Valve Spring, housed in a corrosion-resistant capsule that’s easily disassembled and cleaned. This spring, one of the system’s most critical safety features comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
